The Room signs with White Star Records and releases music video for new single “Broken”

Hailing from the Southeast of the United Kingdom, melodic yet progressive rock act The Room are thrilled to announce their signing to White Star Records, the label owned and operated by Chris Hillman and John Mitchell.

This announcement comes shortly after White Star Records added London prog rock outfit Quantum Pig to their growing roster of artists. Both bands now join a label that currently houses the likes of Voices From The Fuselage, Kepler Ten and The Paradox Twin.

Aisles to release new EP “Live from Estudio Del Sur” on July 6th 2018

Acclaimed Chilean prog rockers Aisles have released their final in-studio video, for their track “Club Hawaii”.

Taken from their 2016 album “Hawaii”, “Club Hawaii” is the last in their series of studio videos.

Celebrating the sessions, Aisles have announced the release of a surprise new EP - “Live from Estudio Del Sur”, which will be released July 6th, 2018.

Kino to release new studio album “Radio Voltaire” on March 23rd 2018

Kino have announced the release of their new album “Radio Voltaire”, arriving 13 years after the band’s much-loved debut “Picture” back in 2005.

Out on March 23rd, 2018, it sees John Mitchell (It Bites, Lonely Robot) & Pete Trewavas (Marillion) teaming up once more, with Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson) on drums & John Beck (It Bites) guesting on keyboards.
 

Unitopia to release a special deluxe edition of their debut “More Than A Dream” on October 23rd 2017

GEP are very pleased to announce they’ve teamed up with Unitopia for a special deluxe edition release of their debut album “More Than A Dream”.

Originally released in 2005 as a single CD, “More Than A Dream – The Dream Complete” is presented in a triple digipak with 24 page booklet, and features the original album re-mastered by Sean Timms and Matt Williams.

Disc one contains the re-mastered album, disc two features 70 minutes of remixes and “re-workings” of the album tracks, whilst disc three has a further 70 minutes of remixes, rare and unreleased tracks.

Discipline to release new studio album “Captives of the Wine Dark Sea” on July 7th 2017

Detroit prog rock icons Discipline have just released the first single from their impending fifth studio album, “Captives Of The Wine Dark Sea”, which is set for release on July 7th, 2017. This is the band’s first record through Laser’s Edge.

The album’s second track, “Life Imitates Art”, is now a lyric video. Watch it below.

Lonely Robot announces 3 UK Headline Shows in August 2017

Lonely Robot, the project masterminded by producer, guitarist and singer & songwriter John Mitchell (It Bites, Frost*, Arena), released their much-anticipated second studio album “The Big Dream” just over a week ago, reaching number 6 in the UK Rock Album chart.

Now they are pleased to announce 3 Prog Magazine-sponsored, UK headline dates in August.

Joining them on all 3 dates will be Tilt, featuring Lonely Robot live band member Steve Vantsis and fellow Fish collaborator Robin Boult, and in London only they will be joined by Southampton's melodic, progressive trio Kepler Ten.

Hi Peter, welcome to Grande Rock. First of all, do give us a brief bio of the band.
 
P: TWM formed around 9 months ago now after singer Al, put out an advert for like-minded musicians to form a writing collective. The rest as they say is history.
 
 
How did you come up with the name This Winter Machine initially?
 
P: The name came from Al. As I recall, he mentioned something about a daydream about a mechanical horse ploughing a 19th century field.

Following 2015's acclaimed debut “Please Come Home”, “The Big Dream” has a core theme running through it - one that sees The Astronaut, the central character in the Lonely Robot adventure, emerging from a long period in stasis.
