Revolution Harmony, the brainchild of British music lecturer/journalist Ray Holroyd, has announced the July 18th release of its debut All-Star charity single, “We Are”. The song features vocals from Serj Tankian (System Of A Down) and Ihsahn (Emperor), as well as guitar solos by Devin Townsend.
Bursting onto the UK metal/prog-metal scene all guns blazing, energetic new Reading-based six-piece Schemata Theory prepare to unleash their explosive debut album “Dry Lung Rhetoric” on June 3.
The album, which was recorded at the renowned Stakeout Studios and produced by Jason Wilcock (Fightstar, We Are The Ocean, The Ghost of A Thousand), features 11 tracks and includes a guest appearance from Mutiny Within’s Chris Clancy on concluding final track, “The Final Breath”.
I was quite longing for this album cuz’ Amorphis used to be a very beloved band to me even from the mid-90s time. I can easily remember how I got the blue vinyl of “Tales…” back in the day and how impressed I was by this band. With “Elegy” their “evolution” took over and that meant the end of the brutal vocals and the heavier parts of the band. Not to be unfair, both “Elegy” & “Am Universum” were very good albums... even though the band changed after them.
One Inch Giant is a swedish band formed in 2009 and they released their fist album, “Malva”, in 2011. Back then, they showed potential with their fusion of 90s heavy/stoner rock with old-school metal vocals. This year, they invade the music community once again with their second album named “The Great White Beyond”. This time, musically, they seem to have taken a more progressive-rock path (the new drummer’s presence is very evident) and yet managed to maintain a general 80’s metal vibe throughout every song. I am not so sure if this choice has worked that good for them.
Kaledon is a recognized Italian power metal band and I think it needs no special reference. “Altor: The King’s Blacksmith” is the band’s 7th release which tells the story the man who forged the sword that killed Mozul, the evil creature that upset the Kingdom’s peace & serenity in the last chapter of the saga. The guys have always been into epic concepts so they continue that legacy on this album too.
After the massive "Made in Germany" tour 2011/2012 together with RAMMSTEIN dark generals from Sweden, DEATHSTARS, began writing new material for the upcoming album.
In May 2013 DEATHSTARS will do a shorter tour in Australia, headline the MainStage at Blackfield Festival, Germany in June then go back to Sweden to get mobilized for the recordings that are scheduled to start in July. The album, which is yet untitled, marks the band's fourth full-length release and will turn another page in the book of their trademark deathglam music and show new interesting sides of the band while still staying true to their sound.
Welcome to the Taurean Empire; a decaying land where disease, war and corruption is rife. A wretched place of man and beast, where deception, fear and despair fills every dank alleyway and the stench of suffering drifts across endless, sun-scorched plains. As way of ensuring safe passage through this hellish hour, let us introduce your guides for the journey; four road-hardened mortals, brought together by luck, power and coincidence. Ladies and Gentlemen, take up arms and go safely as Age of Taurus show you a world inhabited by the “Desperate Souls of Tortured Times”…
Dumper, are a band coming from our native Italy and get their name from a bit of a funny place. Well, a place that would make Sir-Mix-A-Lot proud! The Trunk that’s full of Junk! The Booty! The Back! The Butt! It’s Colloquial slang for a lady that’s specially blessed with a derriere that just cannot be ignored. All shenanigans aside, “The Gunshot Theory”, being their sophomore effort, they just seem to be going for a metalized hard rock that owes a lot to bands like Iron Maiden, mainly due to singer Alessandro Marras’s vocals that do resemble Bruce Dickinson’s a bit even though he seems to exaggerate it.
Bologna-based hard rock band Badmotorfinger (whose guitar player Federico "HeavyRico" Mengoli once played in Tarchon Fist) will publish its debut album “It’s Not The End” on May 28th, 2013 under logic(il)logic Records (distributed by Andromeda Distribuzioni).
The album will feature 13 tracks, including a Motörhead cover, and sees as special guest on "Brand New Day" Luigi "Sange" Sangermano from Sange:Main:Machine.
