Most of the fans of Queensryche demonize and mock him, his former band mates are locked in a legal battle with him over the rights of the band’s name with the comical situation of the two Queensryche’s and well both bands are on the road trying to feed the “legal eagles” that feed off both the bands “carcasses” by mounting nostalgia tours to pay for the legal bills. Nice one.
 

Having recently inked a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment, THE DEFILED can now reveal the artwork for their forthcoming album “Daggers” – to be released on August 2.

The trolls of Nordic folklore are believed to be dirty creatures of enormous strength and appetite. Their grotesque physique grants them a comic element, although the humour tends to be on the grim side as these nocturne beings hunger for human flesh. Unsurprisingly, this has earned them a rather bad reputation. All things considered, FINNTROLL are the perfect embodiment of all aforementioned sentiments - although one might want to replace the hunger for human meat with an unquenchable thirst for booze.

Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of the legendary Seattle metal band SANCTUARY. In 2010, four of the founding members, Warrel Dane, Jim Sheppard, Lenny Rutledge and Dave Budbill, came together to for a few select reunion performances. At first, it was just going to be a handful of shows, but the response and chemistry on stage was so overwhelming, the guys changed their minds. Now, some 20 years after they left off, Sanctuary will continue with their unique mix of US power metal, hard rock and progressive elements and begin work on a new LP. To complete the line-up, Brad Hull (Forced Entry) will be filling in for former guitar player Sean Blosi. A late 2013 release is planned.

Energetic young melodic hard rock upstarts FAHRAN have confirmed they are gearing up for appearances at two of the UK’s most prestigious rock and metal festivals this summer: Download Festival and Bloodstock Open Air.

 

As well as appearing on Download Festival’s Jägermeister stage on Saturday 15th June, the Derby-based five-piece are honored to have been awarded the headline slot on the influential New Blood stage at Bloodstock Open Air on Friday 9th August.

The Australian Heavy Metal outfit PEGAZUS have announced today that they proudly introduce their new vocalist AXEL WINTER to the Metal community. Axel will replace Justin Fleming, who could be heard on the debut album and the latest release “In Metal We Trust”.

 

Guitarist and founding member Johnny Stoj about the singer-switch: “Although we are laid back Australian guys, we have always approached our music with 100% dedication, passion and loyalty. Heavy Metal music and our fans deserve nothing less than that. This has always been like this for us and that will never change.

Five years have elapsed since the band’s previous acclaimed work which gave the band the opportunity to become more known around the world. Assuredly, as Empyrios is more of a music project and its members are part of other bands as well, that long hiatus between albums wasn’t unjustified… probably a tad too much though.
