I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Stala & So. is a long-time running band, since they took shape in 1997, but it wasn’t until the last 2-3 years they made their presence to the fans widely known. Having on its ranks the ex-Lordi drummer Kita, Stala on vocals and the also former Lordi bass player Kalma or else, Nick Gore, this band obviously had one thing in mind… to create good up-tempo rockin’ music as in the 70s & the 80s.

One of the summer’s most interesting classic rock tours will showcase a pair of stellar UK bands – Nektar and Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash – that have joined forces on the “Legends of U.K. Classic Rock” tour.

Both bands feature original founding members and each have decades-long histories of success in the worldwide touring markets, so seeing them together is sure to be a treat for concert-goers fortunate enough to catch one of the shows.

The self-titled debut album by HEX will be released on May 28th 2013 via logic(il)logic Records. Thirteen tracks of modern, dark and mysterious hard'n'heavy featuring horror-inspired lyrics and catchy refrains that will get stuck in your head.

MelodicRock Records will release the band's brand new album “White” as a Deluxe Edition CD - strictly limited to 500 units only. Once they are gone, they are gone forever.

“White” is the band's second album, which sees the guys stepping up the tempo, the songwriting, the performances as well as a cracking production.

For those that love high-tech melodic rock with a twist of Toto and a dash of European flair, this is one to check out!

It’s a mystery why some great bands of the 80s, like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue and so on, changed their style so much that in some cases it’s hard to believe that they were once on the top. Thankfully, there’s a new generation coming that was raised by listening to the aforementioned bands and got inspired by their attitude & style. Summers is one of those bands that brought in my mind the glorious 80s days from the very first moment I listened to their debut album.

- “Hey dude what’s up? What are you listening?”
- “Hey, I’m listening to Black Sabbath, they are truly awesome. They are my favorite band!”
- “Mine too! You know I can play the guitar!”
- “Cool I can sing too and know two other guys who can play the bass and the drums as well.”
- “Great! Let’s make a band then!”
- “Swell! Well shall we be called Dark Sabbath?”
- “No, they will make fun of us.”
- “Ohh crap. Shall we be called Black Sabbat?”
- “Hmm, good but they will understand that our major influence is Black Sabbath right away.”
A very interesting release has reached my ears lately, straight out of Birmingham. The band’s name is Bovine and their first album is entitled “The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire”. Imagine bands like Kyuss or Clutch playing their songs 4 times faster and you will begin to understand what Bovine sound like.

I was quite longing for this album cuz’ Amorphis used to be a very beloved band to me even from the mid-90s time. I can easily remember how I got the blue vinyl of “Tales…” back in the day and how impressed I was by this band. With “Elegy” their “evolution” took over and that meant the end of the brutal vocals and the heavier parts of the band. Not to be unfair, both “Elegy” & “Am Universum” were very good albums... even though the band changed after them.

One Inch Giant is a swedish band formed in 2009 and they released their fist album, “Malva”, in 2011. Back then, they showed potential with their fusion of 90s heavy/stoner rock with old-school metal vocals. This year, they invade the music community once again with their second album named “The Great White Beyond”. This time, musically, they seem to have taken a more progressive-rock path (the new drummer’s presence is very evident) and yet managed to maintain a general 80’s metal vibe throughout every song. I am not so sure if this choice has worked that good for them.
