I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

“Like an Addiction” is the first album by italian hard rock/sleaze metal band Sandness. 1 or 2 minutes after I pushed play I had to check the date the album was released. Let’s just say that if it had come out in 1985 it may have been a good record.

Hey guys… A dream comes true dude, right?! Your debut album is finally out after a long period. How do you feel now that your first goal has been accomplished? We named it the Best Album of April on Grande Rock!

S: It’s great that the fans can finally own a piece of Summers. We’re incredibly proud of the album and just glad to have it out there.

Do tell us what has happened since 2007 that Summers started out till today. Why did it take it you so long to release your debut and what were the drawbacks that you faced as band?

It’s a mystery why some great bands of the 80s, like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue and so on, changed their style so much that in some cases it’s hard to believe that they were once on the top. Thankfully, there’s a new generation coming that was raised by listening to the aforementioned bands and got inspired by their attitude & style. Summers is one of those bands that brought in my mind the glorious 80s days from the very first moment I listened to their debut album.

Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy’s autobiography, “Sex, Drugs, Ratt & Roll: My Life in Rock”, will be published by Simon & Schuster on May 7. The book will chronicle Pearcy’s life from childhood to the formation of Ratt in the 1970s and the band’s rise to prominence in the Sunset Strip hair metal scene of the 80s.

That was something that I didn’t expect. I might be a bit biased but I would never think that there was a chance to see a Ukrainian band playing so fine in a (fixed?) US/EU game. But let’s take things form the start, right?

De La Cruz is a newcomer from down under and this is their first full-length work after they signed in Frontiers records. The young members of the band are fond of the 80s hair metal, hard rock, sleaze metal days when bands like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Danger Danger, Steelheart, Ratt, Firehouse, Warrant and so on ruled the airwaves. Ohh, what a time!! Unfortunately, it ain’t coming back no matter how badly some guys like me want it to happen.

Rust N’ Rage is a newcomer four piece band that’s hailing from Finland. The guys of the band are very young (on their 20s) and slightly matured when it comes to music. They seem to love the 80s sleaze/glam metal bands like: Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, Danger Danger, Warrant, L.A. Guns and so on. Of course, they also dig newer acts like Crashdiet, Hardcore Superstar, Crazy Lixx etc.

The beginning: in mid 2007 Gold Coast, Australia based guitarist Casey Jones, who had been uploading solo guitar performance videos successfully for several years on Myspace and Youtube, crossed paths with reputable Auckland, New Zealand based hard-rock vocalist Roxxi Catalano.
