Steve Vai releases first music theory book “Vaideology” and “Piano Reductions: Vol. 2”

Steve Vai has released two new titles. First, his first music theory book via publisher Hal Leonard. Titled “Vaideology: Basic Music Theory for Guitar Players”, the gargantuan effort was designed to help both beginners and veteran guitar players. Vai takes a deep dive into the basics of music theory to help players better understand the language of music and become more musically literate.

Steve Dadaian to release debut album “Follow the Light” on February 1st 2019

Armenian-American fusion guitarist Steve Dadaian discovered his love for the guitar at a young age. Even while studying at the prestigious Columbia University in the city of New York, Dadaian continued to hone his craft as an artist.

The then 21-year-old classically-trained guitarist spent the little spare time he had reaching top spots at national guitar competitions hosted by Slash, John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall), performing at events with the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, and Nicko McBrain, and dazzling crowds at venues like the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
 

Angel Vivaldi and Nita Strauss announce November & December 2018 US co-headlining Tour

Two of the most revolutionary guitar virtuosos of our generation - renowned soloist Angel Vivaldi and Alice Cooper axemaiden Nita Strauss - are pleased to announce the 2018 edition of The Guitar Collective, a United States tour kicking off on November 19 in New Bedford, MA.

The tour will visit several major cities, ending in Asbury Park, NJ on December 21. Angel Vivaldi and Nita Strauss will co-headline each date of the tour with support from special guest Jacky Vincent (ex-Falling In Reverse). The Guitar Collective 2018 will mark Nita Strauss' live solo debut.
 

Jeff Kollman presents new solo band line-up and announces Summer 2018 live dates with Alan Parsons

Acclaimed guitarist Jeff Kollman (Glenn Hughes, Cosmosquad, Bombastic Meatbats) will be debuting a new configuration of his explosive solo band on June 15 at the Baked Potato in Studio City, CA when he’ll be joined by bassist Pete Griffin (Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, Zappa Ppalys Zappa), drummer Andy Sanesi (Missings Persons, Sebastian Bach), and Grammy Award winning arranger/producer Tom Brooks (Alan Parsons Live Project) on keyboards.

Kollman and Brooks will also hit the road with Parsons starting June 2 in Denver CO as the UK legend continues his “Eye in the Sky 35th Anniversary Tour 2018”.

Jason Kui to re-release debut album “Absence of Words” worldwide on October 13th 2017

Prosthetic Records is proud to welcome Hong Kong-based rock and blues musician and composer Jason Kui to its roster. Kui is a session and touring guitarist who has worked with many well-known artists throughout Hong Kong and China. As a teenager, he was drawn to the playing of Eddie Van Halen, John Petrucci and Andy Timmons, who all greatly influenced his playing.

Kui's debut album, “Absence of Words”, features diverse sounds - modern metal, hard rock, funk and ballad - while integrating rock lead techniques and compelling melodies throughout. Prosthetic Records will make the album available for the first time outside of Hong Kong on October 13th, 2017.
 

Marty Friedman announces August 2017 US Tour

Following last week's album announcement, Marty Friedman is now set to unveil his headlining tour in support of his latest scorcher, “Wall of Sound”.

The 22-show trek will feature support from Houston's top progressive outfit, Scale The Summit, along with Madison, WI-based technical progressive three-piece, The Fine Constant. The tour kicks off in Philadelphia on August 2nd, just two days before “Wall of Sound” is released.
