The Empire Strikes - 1983

The Empire Strikes is a newcomer from Finland which started in 2012. After the release of two EPs & various live shows, the guys started working on their debut full-length album. The band has several influences from the Scandinavian rock & roll scene and from bands like The Hellacopters, Gluecifer, Imperial State Electric, The Flaming Sideburns and so on. Of course, the roots of this kind of music are in the late 60s/early 70s but that’s another story. Moreover, the guys have added a few early NWOBHM elements to their music, thing which makes the final outcome even more desirable at places. The production is rockin’ and in-your-face.

Slow Riot to release “City of Culture” single on July 10th 2015

Brooding post-punk trio, Slow Riot, are releasing their debut single, “City of Culture”, via Straight Lines Are Fine on July 10th, 2015. A three minute blast of angular, chiming guitars and half spoken / half shouted vocals, the song is a sardonic paean to the cultural status their native Limerick was awarded in 2014.
