I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Tristâme is a music project that was created by Rami in 2006. After three years they released their debut album under the title “Unraveling Horizons”. Rami, who is a Syrian born singer-songwriter, came up with the idea for this EP in November 2012, as he was working on some new music in South America.

In a crisis that has left 70,000 plus dead, countless more injured and over one million refugees fighting to stay alive, it is imperative to find a common ground and to gather all efforts to decrease the level of suffering. The New York Based, Syrian born, singer-songwriter, Rami, via his project Tristâme, hopes his latest charity release, “Common Ground”, will inspire others to take notice of the civil war that still grips his homeland.

Recently, THE RETICENT recruited former ORACLE guitarist Robert Kerns as the new resident lead guitarist. This has allowed the band to return to the stage and begin playing some select live dates. Show updates can be found at the band's Facebook Page.

Echo Effect: What an epic name for a band! Seriously, just hearing it makes me think of a massive musical explosion. The group’s first effort, The Beauty in Disaster was released on December 24th of 2012. It’s a fairly short EP, only clocking in at around 22 minutes, but great things can often come in small packages!

I came across some independent bands from Minesota these days and I can certainly say, with great pleasure, that there’s actually some talent in the city’s scene. Eden is a newcomer, formed in 2009. After doing several gigs and making a fan base, they entered the studio and the result is this seven-song EP.

Much to the excitement of bass players around the world, bass guitar virtuoso Brad Russell has released his debut solo album "Let's Hear It!" on Steve Vai's Digital Nations label. Featuring guitar legend Joe Satriani, "Let's Hear It!" explores musical frontiers where no bassist has gone before! Brad is a true bass hero and his debut CD is a solid sampling of creative cutting edge “lead” rock bass playing.

Shadow Kingdom Records has announced that ALTAR OF OBLIVION's "Grand Gesture of Defiance" will be released on September 11, 2012.

Label owner Tim McGrogran has this to say about the album:

Ugly Kid Joe, those dirty bum rockers from the “Neighborhood” that hated “Everything About You” and were born as a joke – the evil twin of “Pretty Boy Floyd” are officially back! Yay!

“Stairway to Hell” is a 6 track self-released EP to herald their return to the scene. And I am guessing that I genuinely have missed these guys. Grungy and dirty, but certainly NOT grunge, they both had fun and were funny too, while on occasion they were getting seriously heavier and grittier, especially, towards the end, before they went on a decade plus long hiatus.
