Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of Australian progressive, extreme metal outfit NE OBLIVISCARIS! The band stand on their own by infusing their metal with western art music, jazz, and flamenco. With adventurous, progressive and nuanced compositions often exceeding ten minutes in length, NE OBLIVISCARIS add profound depth to a musical proficiency which reaches the highest levels.

 

It sometimes makes me wonder… why some bands got the exposure they deserved back in the day, why some others got more than they were worthy of, while others stayed underground and became known to a bunch of metal freaks that buy & support anything that’s different and cult… especially if it comes from the 80s.
 

Were I to guess which country this band is coming from, arbitrating by its music style I would probably choose Europe and specifically Scandinavia. I was rather surprised when I found out that The Advent Equation are hailing from Mexico. They have been around since 2008 but they only released an EP on the same year, entitled “Sounds from Within”. Having worked more on their style and especially on combining various things from the music genres they love the most, the time has finally come to present their debut album worldwide.
 

Hi Mehran. I’m glad we have the chance to talk for your new album “Subrerranea”. It is really an original and state-of-the-art work.
 
M: Thanks very much and I appreciate the chance to get to talk to you about my new work.
 
 
Firstly, do tell us how you decided to form this project. When did it all start?
 

Hi Robert… I’m sure you feel fine this time period, since the band seems to be in great shape in every part, right?
 

Billy Sherwood must be a very busy man lately. For those who are not aware of Billy, I have to tell that he is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and engineer that has played with several bands (Yes, CIRCA:, Lodgic, World Trade, Conspiracy, Yoso, solo) and has also participated in numerous albums. He’s into progressive music, while he likes to blend rock, jazz and fusion parts together.
 

English progressive-metallers AEON ZEN are back with their latest opus entitled "Enigma", which is an ambitiously creative and powerful concept album featuring nine continuous tracks showing the strengths of the band, as well as two bonus tracks. 

 

"Enigma" will be released January 22, 2013 on Nightmare Records.

 

Much to the excitement of progressive rock fans worldwide, multi-instrumentalist, producer/engineer, singer/songwriter Billy Sherwood is releasing his new solo CD "Art Of Survival" on October 5, 2012. As well as being band member/producer of bands such as CIRCA:, YES, World Trade, Conspiracy and more recently The Prog Collective and The Fusion Syndicate, this CD marks the 6th solo release from Sherwood, who performs all instruments and vocals, as well as delivering his signature sonic spectrum in the production.
