Tarja Turunen to release “Ave Maria – En Plein Air” on September 11th 2015

Ave Maria” is a traditional prayer dedicated to the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus, asking for her intercession. It has been set to music in over 4000 songs, some of which kept the original prayer as words while others used a different text than the traditional one.

Ave Maria – En Plein Air” features 12 beautiful “Ave Maria” songs by a wide variety of composers. Tarja Turunen breathes life into some of the most loved and rare songs of Paolo Tosti, David Popper, Astor Piazzolla, and of course Johann Sebastian Bach/Charles Gounod, among others. The closing track of the album presents a magnificent composition by Tarja Turunen herself.

Rage announces new line-up & tour dates for 2015

An outcry went through the metal scene, when Peter "Peavy" Wagner and Victor Smolski of Rage declared the end of their musical collaboration in the beginning of February 2015. Since André Hilgers also had to leave his place behind the drums, rumors were running high quickly and there was even talk about Rage would call it quits. Though Peavy made it clear over and over again in interviews that the new line-up of the band was already positioned, the names of his new band mates remained untold.

Now the wait has come to an end - the new line-up of Rage reads as follows:
Peter "Peavy" Wagner - vocals, bass

Andy Martongelli - Spiral Motion

Andy Martongelli is the guitarist of the metal band Arthemis. Taking a break from his main band, Andy decided to record and release his first solo work. Well, there’s not much to guess here. We have a guitarist that has a solo album out… so it has to be a guitaristic, instrumental album with lots of “show-off” moments, shredding and all the fancy things guitarists fancy. That’s how a typical guitar-album should be like. And in truth to be told, all the guitarists in the world do exactly the same thing by hook or by crook!

Andy Martongelli reveals album line-up and special guests

Spiral Motion”, the new solo album by Andy Martongelli, will be released on November 5th, 2014. Andy unveiled some amazing guest musicians that played some killer solos on his new record.

Guest musicians:
Michael Angelo Batio (Nitro)
Dave Reffet (Guitar World Magazine)
Alex Stornello (Angels & Demons)
Dave Martone

Dave Martone played a great solo on the song “Bite the Bullet” while the other three guests are featured on the song “Cyber-Hammer of the Gods”, a fiery-guitar-shredding-celebration of Metal guitar!

Line-up:

Andrea Martongelli to release “Spiral Motion” on November 5th 2014

Andrea Martongelli (Arthemis guitarist) gives you a taste of his new instrumental solo album titled “Spiral Motion”, which will be released on November 5th, 2014.

Andy states: "I’m very proud of this album as the “Spiral Motion” represents my journey through the most important thing in my life that is the Music.

It all started with a Metallica tape when I was a little kid and the “Spiral Motion” is getting bigger and bigger every day giving me new life all the time through new music, touring and traveling the world, real life experiences...

Rage - The Soundchaser Archives on May 23rd 2014

German heavy metal masters Rage are about to celebrate their 30th band anniversary with the release of a unique collection of songs from their outstanding back catalogue.

The Soundchaser Archives” will contain 30 tracks put on two brimful CDs, covering everything from previously unreleased material or versions, demo recordings to fractions of ideas that finally went to find clear sonic ground. Lingua Mortis Orchestra feat. Rage - LMO

Rage, the multinational metalers that soon will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in metal, are certainly celebrating album 22 with this release. Previously XII, Ghosts, Lingua Mortis, all featured orchestral arrangements most prominently and even on in between albums there have been lush classical like orchestrations courtesy of the genius of Victor Smolski, but here things are going maybe one step beyond. More phantasmagorical, more romantic, more grandiose, “LMO”, is in every respect an impressive accomplishment.

Darryl Way - Ultra Violins out now

Much to the anticipation of music fans and critics worldwide, Curved Air founding member and virtuoso violinist Darryl Way is releasing his first solo album in 20 years! Now available on Explore Multimedia, via Cherry Red Records, "Ultra Violins" features Darryl's own interpretations of several well-known classical pieces, as well as a re-recording of Curved Air's classic hit “Vivaldi”. Says Darryl: “The motivating force behind creating "Ultra Violins" was to introduce some new material for solo violin that came from the vocal repertoire and the world of orchestral music, rather than music specifically for solo violin”.
