I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Well, this month “Steel” has its honorable mention by the acts of this label so, as you can imagine, we are in Italy and Thunder Axe are filling our speakers with pure heavy metal music. Although the band took shape in 2000 under the name Fiaba & Friends, they soon – about a year later – changed it to Thunder Axe.

UK metal legends HELL are putting on one hell of a show, to celebrate the start of the recording of album two.

This special performance coined as ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’, will be filled with “fire, brimstone and pyrotechnical madness”, with support coming from the epic ‘Winterfylleth’ and ‘A Thousand Enemies’. The show will also be filmed live and mixed in 5.1 for a special DVD release, later in 2013. Next year, on February 23rd, the UK will see HELL stage their full 'Church Of Hell' at Derby Assembly Rooms, Darwin Suite.

The rock world is buzzing with the revelation that good and evil can continue to work together in the form of former Judas Priest vocal legend and heavy metal frontman Al Atkins and Christian guitarist and music artist Paul May. Together these extreme opposites have come together once again to create a powerful new CD called 'Valley Of Shadows', now available on Gonzo Multimedia. Here once again, the men from the “Black Country” have produced an album of outstanding quality straight from the “Home of Metal”! This excellent collection of songs sees Atkins deliver some stand out vocal performances and May shred the axe like the old guitar masters.

Demon have been going on for countless years! They never really disbanded as per se, but deaths, tragedies and ever changing line-ups, that however released surprisingly consistent albums by the way, necessitated some periods of inactivity along their more than 30 yearlong semblance of a career.

Grave Digger have being going on since the early 80s, faltering ever slightly along the way and maybe sometimes taking a year or two off, but they have pretty much been rather consistent in their output both in terms of quantity as well as quality, as with the exception of one or two albums, the listener, pretty much knew what he was gonna get.

Carbid! Is a four-piece band from Brunswick. Although they’ve been playing for years, it was not until now that they released their debut album on their own. The band is playing traditional metal rather influenced by Iron Maiden, Accept, Judas Priest, Saxon, Motorhead, Metallica among others.

Their musical approach is far too 80s and so is the production which has the rawness that productions used to have back in the 80s. The songwriting is full of heavy metal clichés and you ain’t gonna hear anything new here except for some metal maniacs that truly love this kind of music and play it with passion.

Helstar, were always one of America’s better straightforward power metal bands and did release a bunch of pretty seminal albums through much of the 80s, narrowly missing the goal of worldwide domination. Still many of them albums they released back then are considered cult classics today.

Now, much of the 90s was spent in hibernation, with only one album being released, with lineup changes and with the band actually breaking up and it took them some 10 years to find the road back into the studio while in the meantime, the members tried to re-establish their friendship and chemistry. Fortunately it all worked out, and the band returned, stronger than ever releasing a string of worthy albums that added to their 80s legacy.
