Stömb release music video for new single “Dimension Zero”

In the closing moments of 2019, French instrumental quartet Stömb released “Ephemeral” - the first taste of their forthcoming album “From Nihil”. With the album now available to preorder via Bandcamp, the band descend once more into a tense, atmospheric conceptual universe with the unveiling of the brand new video single, “Dimension Zero”.

Mindtech to release new studio album “Omnipresence” on March 13th 2020

Mindtech have set to release their new album “Omnipresence” on March 13th, 2020, via TriTech Music.

The new album features eight heavy tracks with great melodies, hooks, awesome musicianship and world class vocals. They define their music as melodic metal with progressive elements (Semi-prog if you will).

Kvelertak releases music video for new single “Crack of Doom”

Norwegian band Kvelertak have shared a second track from their upcoming new album “Splid”, which is set for release on February 14th, 2020, via Rise Records.

Premiering on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show last night, “Crack of Doom” features Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and is one of the first songs performed by the band in English. The group have also released the official video for the track.

External releases official video for new single “Distant”

The Finnish progressive metal collective External have released a new song, “Distant”. It’s the follow-up to their previous single “Anhedonia”, released in June. The cover art was done by Lumi Hartikainen.

In the mixing process, once again, External worked with Asger Mygind from the Danish band VOLA. The song is accompanied by an animated music video by Tuomas Kortelainen.

Runescarred to release debut full-length album “The Distant Infinite” on February 21st 2020

Austin, Texas progressive rock/metal band Runescarred will release “The Distant Infinite” in early 2020. Building from the momentum set by the 2018 EP “We Are”, the band’s full-length debut features 10 stunning tracks that blur the lines between melodic thrash and forward-thinking modern rock.

Dream Theater launch official animation video for “At Wit’s End”

Kvelertak to release new studio album “Splid” on February 14th 2020

Rise Records is pleased to announce the signing of Norwegian band Kvelertak. The band will release their long awaited, fourth studio album “Splid”, on February 14th, 2020.

The record will be the first from Kvelertak since 2016’s “Nattesferd” and is their first album featuring new singer, Ivar Nikolaisen, who joined the group in 2018.

Mantra reveal new music video for “Medium”

In what is perhaps a world first, French progressive metal band Mantra have unveiled an interactive three-sided record listening experience, to showcase their most recent LP “Medium” (October 18th, Finisterian Dead End).

Conceived as an experience of both mind and body, “Medium” is a record centred on the theme of duality. The band took it upon themselves to compose a piece in which both sides can be played simultaneously and controlled by the listener, generating a unique third side.
