Docker's Guild will host a Special Event on February 23, 2013 for the world-wide premiere of the short film "Darwin's Tears", which will include a press conference, the debut live performance of the band, preceded by opening act Last40Days, a few contests with prizes, a meet & greet with the band, lots of merchandising, a few special guests and a live shooting of the entire evening.

Swedish melodic rock legends Treat are celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2013 and announce some mouthwatering news for all their fans. Treat will release a special 30th anniversary edition package, containg a best of-album with two brand new songs and two previously unreleased songs, and their latest album “Coup de Grace”, regarded as a "masterpiece" by Classic Rock Magazine and voted “Melodic rock album of the year 2010” with an extra track.

I’m sure it’s not a surprise to see new bands coming from Sweden anymore. This time we have Nubian Rose which are fronted by the charismatic vocalist Sofia Lilja. Having built a strong sound with influences from the 80s bands like: Vixen, Lita Ford, Romeo’s Daughter, Whitesnake, Scorpions, Joan Jett, Kiss, Doro, Saraya and so on, Nubian Rose are not trying to copy/paste the above-mentioned bands; they are rather presenting their own music proposal with various 80s references. They have also embellished their music with several AOR/melodic rock elements.
 

After releasing their self-titled debut album in 2005, and their sophomore album "Momentum" in 2010 (both on Tribunal Records and to much critical and fan acclaim), US Melodic Rockers LINE OF FIRE are set to make their LIVE DEBUT at the Rock Harvest II festival.

 

Rock Harvest II is being held at the House of Rock in White Marsh, MD. The festival, now expanded to two days, will take place November 8-9, 2013.

 

Lover Under Cover may be a new name in the Scandi rock scene but its members ain’t new at all. The idea that started almost 30 (!) years ago, finally became true now. Mikael Carlsson who is the mastermind & the songwriter of the band finally managed to cooperate with his old pal Mikael Erlandsson (Last Autumn’s Dream, Salute, solo, Heartbreak Radio etc.). The other guys of LUC are: Martin Kronlund (Phenomena, Dog Face, Gypsy Rose, Salute, Radio Silence etc.) on guitars & Perra Johansson (Coldspell) on drums. There are some guest appearances on the album from: Michael Larsson (Coldspell) on guitars, Ged Rylands (ex-Ten) on keys, Tor Erik Myhre (Jorn) on guitars & Katarina Häger – the voice in “Hero”.

I’ve always kept an eye on this inimitable band from Poland, which, auspiciously, released its 3rd album almost 3 years after “Soul’s Inner Pendulum”. This time the band has a new singer, Marcin Jajkiewicz, who joined them in 2011. He has a suave & colorful voice and I think that it was a good choice in the main.
