I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Katatonia will return with a special triple-LP vinyl release featuring an epic set of classics from the band's catalogue. “Last Fair Day Gone Night” features the Swedish dark rock/metal master at its glorious best with this electrifying set from London's esteemed Koko venue during a series of special celebratory shows to mark the band's 20th anniversary during 2011's “Last Fair Day Gone Night” tour. Set for a June 17, 2013 release on Peaceville Records, “Last Fair Day Gone Night” is presented on triple heavyweight 180gm vinyl in a deluxe box, with a 12 page 12" book.

A very interesting release has reached my ears lately, straight out of Birmingham. The band’s name is Bovine and their first album is entitled “The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire”. Imagine bands like Kyuss or Clutch playing their songs 4 times faster and you will begin to understand what Bovine sound like.

Hi Luana… It seems that work never stops for you. After an extended tour you’re back with a new album. How do you feel?

L: I feel as the luckiest person in the world... music is my life, the life I’ve chosen... how could I be happier?

Even though you have been around for about 8 years, this is your forth release to date. That’s almost a new album every 2 years. I think not leaving big gaps between albums and keeping your fans always interested in the band is a good thing. Do you agree?

I was quite longing for this album cuz’ Amorphis used to be a very beloved band to me even from the mid-90s time. I can easily remember how I got the blue vinyl of “Tales…” back in the day and how impressed I was by this band. With “Elegy” their “evolution” took over and that meant the end of the brutal vocals and the heavier parts of the band. Not to be unfair, both “Elegy” & “Am Universum” were very good albums... even though the band changed after them.

After the massive "Made in Germany" tour 2011/2012 together with RAMMSTEIN dark generals from Sweden, DEATHSTARS, began writing new material for the upcoming album.

In May 2013 DEATHSTARS will do a shorter tour in Australia, headline the MainStage at Blackfield Festival, Germany in June then go back to Sweden to get mobilized for the recordings that are scheduled to start in July. The album, which is yet untitled, marks the band's fourth full-length release and will turn another page in the book of their trademark deathglam music and show new interesting sides of the band while still staying true to their sound.
SixStingNoise started out in 2010 as a one man’s band. In 2012, they became an actual band and in 2013 it was time to release their second album called “Likewise”. The album is a clear case of post-grunge, hard/heavy rock like Hinder and Breaking Benjamin.

With a name like Sixstring Noise it is implied that we are dealing with a band mostly based on guitars. That is more or less  the case here. While the lead guitar does come first in the mixing of every song, don’t expect any long and elaborate guitar solos that take up half the song. To be exact: imagine a Zakk Wylde band with half the guitar solos; that’s SixStringNoise.

It ain’t of minor importance to be around for less than a decade and tour, play, record & release albums and have “created” your own music path. That’s more or less what Belladonna have achieved in almost 8 years of existence. “Shooting Dice with God” is the band’s fourth full-length release… and as they like to call it their “rock noir” keeps evolving and maturing with years.

On a Bridge of Dust is an Italian band which appeared in 2008. They started working on their debut album and in 2011 everything was set to go. Unfortunately, this band is a “cruel sample” of how independent releases can go wrong from time to time, if there’s no specific strategic plan of promotion. The album was left in a shelf for far too long. The “weird” thing is that the album was almost in every file sharing site even though it was only presented in very few webzines.

Tristâme is a music project that was created by Rami in 2006. After three years they released their debut album under the title “Unraveling Horizons”. Rami, who is a Syrian born singer-songwriter, came up with the idea for this EP in November 2012, as he was working on some new music in South America.

Coming back, after a widely acclaimed album and various successful live shows, to the studio so as to write a new album is fun but not always that easy for any band, I think. I Am Empire had two ways to follow. The one was to repeat the same recipe of their previous successful work and give their fans one of the same and the other was to evolve, try out new things and go further.

Luckily, they chose the second path and that’s not very weird for they are young and now it’s their time to go on and not get stuck in a certain place repeating themselves. Surely, some of their “old fans” will nag about that but then again what can a band do so as to leave everyone happy at long last?!
