In Vain is back and ready to release their 3rd attack of progressive extreme metal!

 

“Ænigma” is their most extreme work to date, mixed and produced by the legendary Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Borknagar ++). The album will be released March 11th in Europe, March 8th in Norway and March 15th in Germany and Austria. Check out In Vain's tour dates for 2013 below!

 

Arizona thrashers HEMOPTYSIS have launched an IndieGoGo.com campaign to help fund the band's follow-up to 2011's widely-praised "Misanthropic Slaughter".

 

The band has penned five new songs for the release and plans to re-record two tracks which originally appeared on the 2008 "Who Needs A Shepard" EP. Funds are being sought to help cover recording, production, layout and pressing costs, with perks such as drum heads, cymbals HEMOPTYSIS merch, private shows, jam sessions and more being offered to contributors. 

 

Oslo's OKULAR have set March 4th, 2013 as the date on which sophomore effort and Progressive Death Metal tour de force "Sexforce" will be self-released. 

 

The brainchild of composer/lyricist Andreas Aubert, OKULAR again offers the balanced blend of technicality, melody, and brutality first heard on critically acclaimed 2011 debut "Probiotic", and yet "Sexforce" is somehow more accessible and compositionally dynamic than its predecessor.

After Biff Byford (Saxon), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween, Unisonic), Bruce Kulick (ex-KISS, ex-Meat Loaf), Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids) and Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, ex-Vengeance) another guest star has been revealed: legendary former Deep Purple, Rainbow and Yngwie Malmsteen vocalist Joe Lynn Turner will appear on the new AVANTASIA album "The Mystery Of Time" (to be released by the end of March).

Heavy metal band Nightglow inked a deal with logic(il)logic Records to publish its debut album "We Rise", scheduled for release on March 2013. Born as cover band in 2003, Nightglow has been touring Northern Italy and Europe since 2006 as a well-known and appreciated cover band of Manowar; later on, the band started working on its own music and recorded "We Rise", eight tracks of pure old school heavy metal.

After a 12-year absence from North America, Norwegian Viking metal veterans EINHERJER have announced plans to ransack the continent this spring. The band will kick off the "Dragons Over Vinland" Canadian tour, on which they'll be supported by Panzerfaust, in Toronto on March 15. Prior to this, EINHERJER will play a showcase at the prestigious South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, in addition to headlining the 2013 Heathen Crusade Metalfest in St. Paul, MN. ANTHRAX are set to release a special edition of their 11th studio album "Worship Music" through Nuclear Blast on 22nd March, 2013. 

 

Docker's Guild will host a Special Event on February 23, 2013 for the world-wide premiere of the short film "Darwin's Tears", which will include a press conference, the debut live performance of the band, preceded by opening act Last40Days, a few contests with prizes, a meet & greet with the band, lots of merchandising, a few special guests and a live shooting of the entire evening.
